This disk contains the setup program for the RevealNet
companion reference and requires Microsoft Windows 95, 
98 or NT4.  If you are working in a non-Windows environment, 
please visit the RevealNet PL/SQL Pipeline Archives 
(http://www.revealnet.com/plsql-pipeline) to obtain a 
compressed file containing the examples on this disk. 


System Requirements
-------------------

The following requirements must be met to use this product

   o  A PC 100% compatible with an 80386 processor or better
   o  Microsoft Windows 95, 98, or NT
   o  2M+ of disk space 


Software Requirements
---------------------

On some Windows systems, RevealNet may not be able to be 
installed until the COMCTL32.DLL and/or MFC42.DLL are 
upgraded.  If such a conflict occurs the following error 
messages will be displayed at the beginning of the 
installation

o  Possible conflict with existing COMCTL32.DLL

    ***
    Severe Error  The COMCTL32.DLL must be updated before 
    this installation can be performed.  Please run the 
    401COMUPD.EXE (see README file for details) and then 
    re-run this install.
    ***

    The 401COMUPD.EXE can be downloaded from the RevealNet 
    website at  (http://www.revealnet.com/cust.htm)

    Important Note  After running this program you will 
    need to re-boot your system before continuing with the 
    RevealNet program installation.

o  Possible conflict with existing MFC42.DLL

    ***
    Severe Error  The MFC42.DLL must be updated before 
    this installation can be performed. Please run the 
    MFC42_UPDATE.EXE (see README file for details) and then 
    re-run this install.
    ***

    The MFC42_UPDATE.EXE can be downloaded from the RevealNet 
    website at

    Important Note  After running this program you will 
    need to re-boot your system before continuing with the 
    RevealNet program installation.
  

Preparing to Install 
--------------------

Be sure that the following conditions have been met before proceeding 
with the installation

  o  Meet hardware and software requirements.
  o  Meet disk space requirements.
  o  Have Microsoft Windows running. For help in running Windows, refer 
     to the Windows manual.


Installing the Companion Software
---------------------------------

The RevealNet companion reference is installed by executing the 
installation procedure, a Windows Executable.  The name of the 
executable is

    RevealNet_O8i_Guide_Setup.exe



Where the Software is Installed
-------------------------------

During installation, a RevealNet common directory will be created 
(if not already present).  By default, this directory will be 
C\Program Files\RevealNet.  However, you can specify another 
directory if you wish, when prompted at the beginning of the 
installation procedure.  Using a common directory for all RevealNet 
products allows our Knowledge Base products to share the browser 
and reduce disk space usage.   

The companion reference will be stored (by default) in a separate 
subdirectory off of the common directory.  The default subdirectory
is

    C\Program Files\RevealNet\GuideO8i
    

Running the Companion Reference
-------------------------------

The Companion Reference can be accessed after it is installed by 
double clicking on the associated RevealNet Icon.  This shortcut
is created in the folder that you select during the installation.
